Created a problem trying to update fwupd

I have a message that I can update my Logitech Universal Receiver firmware.

Looked up instructions, which use fwupd. Was told to use snap for Ubuntu version 22

sudo snap install fwupd --classic

But then I remembered it said to uninstall the "apt version", so I did:

sudo apt remove fwupd

But now when I enter fwupd, it says 'command not found'. I tried the snap install command again, it says fwupd is already installed.

I'm tolerably familiar with command lines, system paths, etc., but don't really understand apt, snap, or fwupd. Can someone please help me get the fwupd back, then I can start trying to update the Logitech Universal Receiver software.

Top Answer/Comment:

After installing the fwupd through Snap and removing the old version with apt purge the path information in your terminal session may be outdated/conflicted. Often the simplest way to resolve this is to log out and in again so that the paths in your session are correct.
